Similar to the LF units of the Low Flow Series, the High Flow Series matches Equilibar’s patented multi-orifice design for back pressure regulators. These pressure regulators offer equally excellent capabilities for stable and accurate pressure control, whilst being capable of handling larger flows and thus larger flow coefficient values.
The Equilibar® High Flow series is a very compact pressure regulator, similar to the multi-orifice Low Flow back pressure regulators. These High Flow units have quite a small footprint, yet they can handle a Cv value up to 0,41. Like all Equilibar back pressure regulators, the rangeability surpasses any other traditional valve. The minimum Cv value of the High Flow regulators, in open loop control, is 1·E-05. This means this instrument can control it’s upstream pressure with a very large turndown ratio even when the flow varies over a wide range as well.
Without a doubt, the units in the Equilibar High Flow Series are very versatile. In addition, the instruments are capable of handling two-phase flow and supercritical media and even media containing particles. Although it is always better to use a filter upstream of any control valve, in cases where it is impossible to keep particles out of the process media (such as crystallization processes), smooth process control with only limited maintenance or downtime is more than feasible with these back pressure regulators. Depending on their size and amount and the level of abrasiveness, particles in the process can be a complicated parameter to work with. Common applications where the HF Series is applied are fuel cell testing equipment, high-pressure pump testing and pilot-plant-scale-catalysis research. The units in the HF Series are supplied quite frequently, so we regularly have it on stock.
